at first glance, i thought the sapote was a picture of another small frog. i wasn’t expecting it to be brown inside. it looks like wet wood.

They are ugly… and at the same time odd.
We have a lighter brownish version of the sapote in India and it is a very popular fruit! Did you like the black sapote?
@ Naveena. I did like the sapote, but I was thinking chocolate pudding, and it tasted more earthy. It was very good and unique though.
A chocolate pudding fruit sounds amazing, if only they were real. But then again, you never know what they’ll come up with from all of the genetic modifications they are making these days. It’s amazing to think that apples have grown to become such a huge variety of fruit when they started out being a sour, bitter, crab apple like fruit only used for hard cider.
They are real! I have some jam from chocolate pudding fruit. I just couldn’t bring any home.
